Self esteem is an inner knowing of one's accomplishments,and relationships with others.With this there is little need for boastfulness or acknowledgment from others.
The ego works under false pretenses and makes us think of ourselves as someone we really are not.It could think "I am a great fine artist,but in reality just an average fine artist." So then one would rather complain about the situation than improve their talents.
The ego is never really an ally.
Should my wife and I put clothes on when extended family comes over? We are usually nude and most of them know it. Nudity among family, OK
