  • Flemish giants can be over 20 pounds but the regular rabbit will weigh under 2 pounds
  • A DWARF rabbit can be around 2 lbs, and Flemish can be 20 + BUT the average size of a domesticated bunnny is 3 to 8 lbs, usually close to 5.
  • There are about 50 breeds recognized by the American Rabbit Breeder's Association. (ARBA.net). They have various weights ranging from the smallest (Netherland Dwarf) at 2 pounds, to the Flemish Giant (Largest) at around 22 pounds and sometimes more.   • Rabbits have a wide range of size. I have a Lionhead that's barely two pounds and a New Zealand that is topping 20.
  • Age matters too, until rabbits are about 1 year old they could potentially grow more... i think the most rabbits will ever get to is 35 pounds but i think these might be extinct. anyway most pets are about 5 pounds. new zealands and some other breeds "regular" size are about 8-12 pounds. dwarfs/smalls are about 2-5.
  • There are some giant breeds like the Flemish Giant and the German Giant that can weigh over 15 lbs. Some have reached around 20 lbs.
