    Yes.

Where in the Bible do you find references to Evergreen Trees, presents to everyone, Santa Claus, Elves, Reindeer, Sugar Plums, and the like?

The date was, December 25th. The Catholic church selected that day to celebrate Christ so the pagan festivals would be phased out, same with easter.

The actual belief of the holiday wasn't.

Yes and no. There have been Winter Solstice celebrations from the dawn of humans' observance of the seasons. Likewise, miraculous births of gods & heroes. The early church had no definitive date for Jesus' birth (the start of Winter was not at first a popular one) but had to settle on some date. The Saturnalia was established & was handy; this made the morphing of one holiday observance into another an easy choice. There are few if any church holidays which are not amalgams or even outright hijackings of other religions' observances. Even some of the saints were lifted "bodily" from other religions to make the church's hold over local populations easier to manage. As Moon has hinted, the Christmas tree, holly, mistletoe, yule logs, ritual lighting of candles, etc. are all symbols and symbolic acts from other religions

YES. and no They took Yule and the tradition of giving gifts in memory of the dead, decorating the Yule tree, and they turned it into a celebration of Jesus Christ. The Christians adopted it for their use in 273 CE (central era). so yeah they stole it from us
