Can i hook up a sound system/stereo etc directly to a car battery? and if so how long do you think it would last ish?

    You can hook up a head unit or amp directly to the battery of a car. It will last as long as you want, HOWEVER, spend the extra cash to put a fuse in the wire. If you don't you run a very high risk of the plastic coating getting really hot and melting and possibly causing a fire. If you are talking about something like putting a car battery in your room with the system, you can do it, but depending on how loud you have it, how many watts, etc. it will probably die pretty quickly since there won't be anything to recharge the battery.
