Help answer this question below.

I have a 1988 f-150 4x4 with a 300 inline 6 cylinder, the fuel pump wont kick on. I replaced the fuel pump and checked the safety switch and still wont come on. Does anyone have any ideas?

    Fuel pump relay is located on the upper left fender inner panel. Near to trhe master cylinder. Also check the fuel realy PLUG for bad connection..They can look good but will get corroded inside the base of the conn. Between the wire and the spade connector. If nothing is obvious whack the tank with a rubber hammer and see if the pump works..If you have power leaving the relay to the pump then 99% chance the pump is faulty....By the way, there are two relays side by side, one is for the pump and the other is for the ECM..

    There should be a relay for the fuel pump as well. If this relay is bad, the pump will receive no power. See your owners manual for relay location, or www.autozone.com offers online repair guides for free that may help.
