I believe when you've dropped down to 40 miles per hour after climbing up hill then put them jakes on and it helps slow you down for down hill to avoid hittind yuppies in hondas.
I just graduated from trucking school. I don't quite understand how to floating gears work and sometimes when I shift gears with clutch, if I do it slow it grinds,if I do it fast, it grinds. What am I doing wrong?
The jacob brake is a device inside the engine that uses the engines compression to help slow you down. You should never use it in any condition when traction is poor,as this could cause you to lose control of your truck,do to the drive tires skidding. The johnson bar will also get you in trouble,as it applies trailer brakes only.Never use the johnson bar as a parking brake. If sliding your tandems the johnson bar can be used, also while hooking a trailer you could use it to insure your trailer brakes work.It is thought bye many to be more of a danger than a needed piece of equipment.
The jake brake is a coupling that closes around a portion of the drive shaft. It
s used to help slow your truck on declines so you're not riding the brake. I have no idea what a johnson bar is.

I use a website that has dancing girls in blue jeans atop tractor trailer rigs. But no forum. Why no forum?
