How come I ask a lot of questions on here and I only have about two answers each? Is time the main asset?

There's no "set answer" to your question, as ABers answer only those questions that interest them.

If a question is "interesting" or addresses the three "forbidden" topics (sex, politics & religion), it's likely to get a plethora of responses, but if it asks something like, "Does your dwelling have a doorbell, or must visitors knock?" you might not get too many answers, because some folks consider such questions to be a waste of their valuable (to them) time.

If you ask something controversial, like, "I want to have an abortion, and this will be my third one. Should I go ahead, as I've done in the past?" expect several dozen responses and many of them will be both insulting or otherwise "negative," depending on your viewpoint.

I sometimes get only a few responses to some of my questions (either because the question is poorly worded, or just plain "dull" in nature), and that's about par for the course for me, but truth be told, I wouldn't wish to have a couple of hundred responses to my questions, because I'd spend way too much time, "corresponding" with the ABers who answered, as I believe every non-insulting response deserves SOME sort of reply, just to let the ABer know that you appreciate the fact that s/he took the time to give you an answer. Also, every answer (except the insulting ones) deserves to be rated.

Do you acknowledge ALL of your answerers with a "thanks" and points? If not, that might explain why you are not be getting as many responses as you believe you should be receiving.

Good luck with your future questions, and note that THIS question did at least get some kind of response from me, as well as a

It is about normal here. If you are more active, you get more well known and people could answer your questions more frequently.
For instance, I have 505/998 questions with only 2 answers or less.

It is sometimes hard for beginners because they cannot give so many points, so people interested in points could find answering their questions a waste of time.

    >>>>>> One big problem in your case is that, as far as I could see with a quick check, you seem not to acknowledge the answers that you get (with a small comment: a "thank you" would be enough). It makes it look like you were not interested in those answers.

So some people could answer your questions, but without a feedback, they might not give you points. This is my policy, by the way: I don't give points to the question if I don't get a feedback (points or comments) that could have come from the asker.

I think time and subject matter is the two main components to the number of responses you receive.
