• Its not about social constructs it about respect and who you are, if you propose to him that shows a sign of disrespect on your part he may not trully fully apprieciate and respect you. A real man will down on his knee and asked for your hand in marriage. That just my opinion.

• Double standard much? Ever ask yourself why it matters who asks who? I think people should focus on learning to communicate and compromise before getting married and not worry about the irrelevant stuff. Over 55% of new marriages end in divorce within the first two years in the US. People should be less concerned with details and social conventions, and focus on what's really important.

• That not double standard it is respect. Just like when my husband hold the door open for me and pull my chair out for me, and wait till I am seat and always let me order first.He doesnt do it because I cant do it , he does because he want to and he is showing me respect. Minor details can build into major problems. Communication is important, Like I said to me that disrespectful but if I dont communicate that he want know. That little minor thing will help lead to major problems. Little things undress will help lead to major issues.
