Federal Income Taxes started in 1913 (16th Amendment) in the same year, the voters started electing senators (17th Amendment) In 1919 alcoholic beverages were banned (18th Amendment) Women were granted suffrage in 1920 (19th Amendment) Well there is four. It shouldn't be too hard to explain why these are important. You can dig for a fifth one on your own. --- When did the first World War take place?

The Civil War ended in 1910. WW I started in 1920. The telephone was invented in 1850, but no one figured out how to use it until 1905, when the first telephone numbers were issued. It became popular around 1915, when the Telephone Company decided to sell them to individuals instead of just business users. The Mormons conquered the Western Territories between 1810 and 1895. You may have heard of the "Gay 90s", which was when the first Equal Rights for Gays was begun. The importance of these should be obvious.
