What will happen if the Tories don't get an absolute majority at the next UK election?

To be honest, i am hoping for a hung parliament. I'm not a Lib Dem, and i know a hung parliament in effect makes them kingmaker, but the good thing about a hung parliament means that any policies that are put forward are far more rigorously tested then they normally will be when they go through the Commons. The worst case scenario (for me, and i believe for Britain) is for either Labour to get back in, or the Tories get in with a big majority.
