Here's my guess:
The human brain requires quite a lot of energy, and when you are thinking about something that's difficult, you do burn more energy than at rest. When energy is consumed by the brain, most all of it (if not all), results in heat generation. The circulatory system cools the brain using blood and, and the blood is cooled by respiration and perspiration. The added perspiration will over time dehydrate you, but I think it would take quite a long time compared to, say, running a marathon on a hot day.
