No. Well...not ALL of California, and no time soon.
Western California rests on the Pacific Plate (tectonic plate). Eastern California rests on the North American Plate.
The Pacific Plate is moving slowly Northwest, at a rate of about 2 inches or so a year...which will deposit parts of Western California up near Alaska in about a million years or so. Provided Alaska doesn't move, that is.

It's not that it will break off, more than it will be swallowed up by the Great Pacific.
im sure parts will be submerged in water should the water continue to rise, but i dont know about 'breaking off'...if that were the case, florida and maine would be in a lot of trouble...
I doubt it. I have heard that parts of it will be under water if the oceans continue to rise. I think they're safe for the time being.
we couldn't be so lucky.
I hope so then we can form our own country and run things right.
in a looong time, yes. the whole world will be submerged, then we will go through another ice age, and then it will be normal again, excpt no humans.
