hardly ever a big lie, but lots of white lies. like if my wife says does it look like i'm losing weight, i say of course, or she asks if the skirt makes her look fat i say of course not, unless it is really bad.

Very rarely - I have got to be one of the world's worst liars. I have no poker face whatsoever, I cannot look the other person in the eye, my face gets hot and turns red, I stumble on my words, talk fast, and give too much info, and sometimes start giggling uncontrollably. Usually, the only time I can get away with it (excluding email) is over the phone.

I am a terrible liar. If asked a direct yes or no question, I would have to tell the truth. But I have learned how to redirect attention away from the actual meaning of the question, so it looks like I have answered but did not really. Easy example.."Does this dress look good on me?" (dress makes them look dumpy but they obviously love it) My answer could be something like "I love the color." Now if it was one of my real, good friends, I would probably tell them it makes them look dumpy, because they know I would give an honest opinion and wouldn't ask if they didn't want to know.

I caught myself in one earlier today!
Nineteen year old son rings me at work "I dont know what to have for lunch." (for petes sake!!) I told him I was having yoghurt and he could do the same (or any other multitude of things in the fridge/pantry!) ... I had answered the call after giving in to hunger and getting a $1.40 chocolate bar out of the snack machine and it was staring me in the face while I told him I was having JUST yoghurt!

Absolutely. On a pretty regular basis. While I don't like it I do it. I'd much rather not have to but I'm not very fond of being skinned alive for just being me. If someone can't handle that... well... too bad. Be real with me and I'll be real with you. I don't like playing games. Unfortunately, some times I feel I really have no choice.

I try not to lie. I guess we all make mistakes at one time or another. I don't know if that would be considered a lie. Not intentional lies, however.

I did, when I was younger, but after my oldest son was diagnosed as a compulsive liar at the age of 10, I made a vow to never lie again, not a white lie, not a feel good lie, not a little lie, or any other kind of lie - and I have stuck to that ever since (36 years).
