I don't know if things were ever that much better in "the olden days" (whenever they may have been for you) I think that we choose to look back and rember things in a pleasant light and overlook the problems and issues that we dealt with which makes us think that things were better before because we are unable to ignore the challenges of now until we have dealt with them.
---------- i was a kid in the 50's /60's /70's i was 16 in 1969 and that was when life was so find i cant really say how i feel about the olden day im 56yo now and have seen alot of things go from safe to were people dont go out at night to comp. -just the way a telphone was and is now my first tape deck in my first car was a 4 track tape deck do you even know what that was
i can go on and on about the thing that we have now that make are life so much harder / that not the word im looking for
No. The "good ol' days" never existed - that is just selective memory. I don't know how far back you are thinking of, but on average, life has been getting steadily better for nearly everybody in the developed world. You might be one of the few who has lost out recently - but there were other losers back then.
The "good ol' days" were simple because your parents were taking care of all the crap.
IE Jobs, Bills, Insurance, etc.
and:
H- YA, I miss them!
Actually, yes I do miss the simplicity of years gone by. The world was a much nicer place. :) +5
There never were any "good old days". We tend to have selective memories as times goes on. Today will be someone elses "good old days". +4
don't know that it was better, but it was certainly a lot more innocent.
What helps you grieve? Why?

Do you look at your other half and wonder how someone like you could ever end up with someone so wonderful or do you think the reverse?

I suppose you can choose to be enthused about anything. You can also choose to be un. Are you enthused or un? About what?

You're reading Does anyone else miss the "good ol' days" and how simple they were? I mean, even with all of the advancements that we have, wasn't life somehow better?
