Well, if "all of the evidence points to her", why is it necessary for you to "handle" her at all?

Don't approach the co-worker at all.Either management will see what she's doing and get rid of her or they're too stupid to notice. Cover your own a** at all times, make sure that all your dealings are obviously transparent. Revenge is best left to experts. +4

Well this is exactly how I'm handling it, but sometimes our management acts like they don't see things that first shift slackers do and dont do. I have started writing down everything I do as a result of this. Sometimes I want to bring a tape recorder to work to record her telling lies, but I dont. I make sure that I ask management if Im doing enough work from time to time too. Only me and the other third shift employee do all of the work. With the nature of our work, we have to sign our names next to each test we perform with the results. One sample might have 12 tests on it, and out of those 12 my name and the other third shift employee is on at least 9 to 12 tests. She might do one or none at all. Time I get to work I get started figuring out what needs to be done and start testing. When first shift gets to work, they get on the internet for at least 2 hours and drink coffee for another 2 hours, then socialize for another hour. Or they just get lost. They do about an hour of work for 8 hours a day. Now that we are on mandatory OT, they do about 2 hours of work for 10 hours a day(The only reason why I know this is because I have seen them do it when I periodically work on first shift.) I guess my fate will be the same as the last cycle of people that came to the company...they all left because of her according to their exit interviews. She makes it a hostile work environment, and she has been there for 5 years now. Just the other day she told me that I shouldn't try to get everything done on time so much...Its almost as if she is mad because I out perform her so often.
