Help answer this question below.

Is it wrong to not feel sad when a sexually abusive relative passes away? The abuse happened almost 10 years ago, but now I'm just relieved that no other kids will be harmed by him... The rest of the family is mourning though and they never knew...

The only thing wrong is...letting them inter your thoughts at all! Just think, if you believe in God as I do.....this person is answering for themselves right NOW! That's the day I always look forward to.:):)

Why should that be wrong? Your family doesn't know why you were afraid of the deceased.

It is normal, it is now time for you to heal your wounds. You will never forgive and forget but at least you can collect the pieces of your heart, glue it back together and make yourself a new, fulfilling and happy life without worrying that this relative might hurt you again or hurt someone else.

- Thanks... I just feel bad for my other relatives because they're hurting... But I also know that he can't hurt me anymore... The abuse stopped when I was 11... I finally told him no... I didn't go back for almost 8 years, and when I did, he still creeped me out. I went down to visit the other relatives again this year, and he was telling me what a sweet, little child I used to be... I felt like vomiting listening to him.
  I don't like my family hurting, but I can't stop feeling like a weight is gone from my shoulders and heart. I've already noticed the difference in myself.

- I am happy that you feel better with him being out of your life. You are kind that you did not spread the news while he was alive. He certainly would have deserved it. I wish you well. I believe that you can now look forward to live life to the fullest. Enjoy! May happiness fill your life.

It is perfectly normal to feel that way. You can have peace now, knowing he can never hurt another person.
