No.

No but they usually see the shoes in the entry way and take theirs off as well. Unless they are just there for a few minutes. Then they stand on the carpet in the entry way.

Do you Kewl?
No, I just don't let people enter my home. +4
No, I wouldn't dream of it. My family and I do not wear our shoes in the house, but if our guests want to, that is their choice. Most people take off their shoes when they see it is our custom.
If it's wet and muddy outside then yes, if not then no.
I don't have to. In my country poeple know good manners.
When they come into the living area absolutely!
.
I have 2 thai housekeepers that demand it, and I agree. I let people know ahead of time... specially since guests wonder into my bedroom at some point, the new ones will, anyway.
.
Except for the really hot chicks.... they must disrobe completely!
No, but I probably should. Living in the country seems to drag in more dirt; even with a mat at the door.
No, I have ceramic floors in my living room that can easily be cleaned if dirtied!
No, it''s assumed they will. They go past the kitchen with 'em on and either they aren't from around here and need some "cultural" assistance or I'll nab them by the scruff and point at my own feet. "Asking" never comes into play.
Yes,
No,never.
I get them to take the shoes off.I do not want the bottom of the shoes to dirty up my place.Guests comply without complaint. It is probably more comfortable for them to let their feet breath a little by being free from the confinement of the shoes.
I live in Sweden, it is very commonplace here and I usually have to insist that people don't ALWAYS need to take their shoes off lol
No... but I wouldn't be too happy if that person didn't do it anyway. I think its common decency to take your shoes off when entering.
It's very common to remove your shoes inside in this country. So no - once inside everyone does so automatically.
I do if they've ever used a public restroom. I'm just not crazy about tramping that filth through my house.
Nope
Yes, but I do provide house slip-one for them to wear...many are uncomfprtable without thier shoes.
No,they usually ask if they should......
There's a rug by the door for the guest to decide for himself.
Nope...we have been in the middle of some home improvement work for a while now...and going barefoot or shoeless might be a real bad idea!
Not yet though. maybe once wooden floors are installed I might have to do that.
Yes it really helps keep my hardwood floors looking nice and shiny!
nope ^ ^
No, all our floors are tiled and we seldom have the sort of weather that would lead to dirt being trod in.
No. Usually people take off their shoes, but if someone's visiting me for a short while then I just say that he doesn't have to take them off. Well, if someone doesn't take off his shoes then I won't be mad at this person.
No! It is not holy ground. Also I do not like the smell of some people's feet. I would rather clean the carpet than be gassed.
No but I oblige others who request it in their home.
no....
Nope
My parents always did no matter who it was but here in my home we do it but not to our guests
No, because most of our house guests usually do that already before entering our home. It's only the odd "stranger" who does that, but if he/she does, I will tell him/her. I think it's unhygienic to wear street shoes inside the house. Even I, MRSHINYSHOES, takes off his shoes at the door. Lol. (I have "house shoes" that I wear inside the house---yes, shiny men's dress shoes that are reserved for indoor wear).
No, it's pointless - we've got the doors open most of the year, and our cats and dogs won't take their paws off either, so why should we request it from people? :)
g'day Kewl Guy,
Thank you for your question.
No but one of my brothers and his wife do. I always have to remember especially as I will be having Christmas at their house this year,
Regards
depends on the shoes. if dress shoes then yes. boots too. and keds must come off all the time.
