Question

Help answer this question below.

My dearest friend is disabled, can't work; on food stamps; applying for social security: the worse time of her life. I have been with her when people with jobs, health, etc, say, "We all have it bad now." I can only gasp. What is a response to this?

It's relative to that particular person's circumstances. No need to get offended by the statement.

Wow! That is special. I can actually say my first response would probably be, where you born an idiot or did you have to work your way down from simpleton to absolute imbecile?
Then tell them that when they get into an accident, lose there job and health insurance and need gov't assistance to live tomorrow that then they can make that kind of comparison.
WOW! I just have to wonder what kind of idiots does she know. She needs better friends.
    Still WOW!

you shouldn't gasp.. and looking down on your freind as this poor unfortunate soul.. isn't healthy.. for her .. or you.. someone who gives her a hug and says we all have it bad .. is trying to include her in life.. to move on so to speak.. they have stopped looking at her disability and look at her as just one of the guys.. just my take on it .. my brother went from being a all state football player to a wheel chair and at first i would always want to help him do stuff then 1 day i said my feet hurt and he started laughing and since then .. its no longer my handicapped brother ..he is just my brother .. "hey bro i need to borrow your wheels" LOL!
