Well, you have an interesting point, but you have to realize that car companies cannot "stand still" with their products. They have to keep innovating, and building the vehicles that people want to buy. If they don't keep up with what people want, their competitors will eventually put them out of business. Toyota and Honda have nearly killed the big three because of this issue. The big three, especially Ford and GM, are catching up, but it's a very tough industry. Margins can be razor-thin, and they are battling their old reputation as companies that don't know how to make reliable cars.
Yes. And since my tax money went to bail the bastards out, I think I'm entitled to demand that they stop this "business as usual" crap. Build electrics and diesels, scrap the rest. +4
Absolutely! Transportation is a major contributor to air pollution. Reducing dependence on foreign energy sources is also a good reason to develop alternative fuel vehicles. The sooner this is done the better.

You're reading Is it just me? To me the car companies shouldn't be designing new models when they have a huge inventory of brand new existing models. Do any of you feel that they should spend their money on alternative fuel vehicles?
