    The point of an ad hominem argument is to ignore a response to the issue raised by one's adversary and instead to attack the person who raised it.
    Adversary says: We should include more funding for education in the budget because schools are failing.
    Ad Hominem response: You liberals just want to spend, spend, spend. You have no sense of the value of a dollar.
