I kinda like "The Golden Rule" - do unto others as you would have them do unto you. But if that's too religious, consider this quote from Stephan Grellet....
“I expect to pass through this world but once; any good thing therefore that I can do, or any kindness that I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now; let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.”
I've never thought of it as a philosophy but I think it's a nice idea. On the whole though I think I'm probably more inclined not to make them anonymous, because I enjoy helping the people who are closest to me and I find the two-way nature of the exchange an affirming experience for both parties. I think that being on both the giving and receiving ends of kindness helps to grow friendships and love. Having said all that, there is something very delightful about the idea of doing someone a good turn anonymously.
Random, some, but most, are premeditated and done on the low low. So yes, I feel ya mon (said with a Jamaican accent)
They're always nice :)

I don't think about it.
Sometimes I see something that needs to be done.
Occasionally someone appreciates whatever it was I did.
Then, sometimes I don't friggin' FEEL like it.
Either way, I don't give it much thought.
It is what it is.
Not random, but intentional.
I try to do this when I can, and watch the expression on peoples face when your suddenly there out of no where to help them carry a package or hold a door open for them. It's always nice to be the recipient of
an act of kindness it restores my faith in mankind.
no i like to let it be known! its unkind to keep a person in suspense
No act is trivial done by any human on earth. In our most simple moments we entertain angels. Out of each act is birthed a path in eternity.
Not always random, and it's not my philosophy, but I still do it, and will continue to do so.

You're reading "Random acts of anonymous kindness". Is that your philosophy too?

Thank you. +5 The anonymous part is important to me, as I don't want expressions of gratitude or any other social interaction. Such makes me uncomfortable.
