No. The floods of November 1953 killed over 300 people. The Lynmouth disaster of 1952 killed 52 people in one small town like Cockermouth. This years floods are bad, but not that bad. There have probably been worse than those.

I wouldn't say they were the worst ever floods in the uk. they might be the worst floods in the last 10 year or so but yeh i wouldnt say worse ever.
