No, it is only ridiculous to take a vow of celibacy, break it and pretend that you are still celibate.
Most fads are eventually looked back upon as ridiculous. You don't have to make a vow to remain celibate. To paraphrase Nike (who copied from Gary Gilmore): "Just DON'T do it!"

I think so. It doesn't say anywhere in the Bible that you shouldn't have sex. It says you should be married and the purpose of sex is to pro-create. That was written in by man un-instilled by the Holy Spirit.
