  • You should check the specification lable/printing on the amp for output power and impedance. Buy speakers rated above the output power for each channel. For example, newer amplifiers make clear that it may be a 100 Watt amplifier, but each channel (speaker) only recieves 50. It is sometimes written as 2 X 50. Most consumer amps have an output impedance of 8 Ohms, but it could be different. Look for this value on the specs and buy speakers to match.
