    I think it depends on the person. If it's being said to their FACE directly (and NOT behind their back), then I would have to say it's probably a compliment! Why would you DELIBERATELY degrade someone TO THEIR FACE?!?

    "You could stop a clock" translates to "you're extremely unattractive." However- Telling someone that they have "a face that could make time stand still", would be considered quite a compliment. Go figure. Good question!

    I would consider it a compliment - though exaggerated.
    Simply means that someone has simply stayed in a desirable age group permanently where physical appearance is concerned.
