we work at home, up to 7 days a week. but we get to work in bed or in our pjs unlike most jobs. its very risky though, we rely on our income from book sales, but if the book does not sell then we get a low income or no income.

By avoiding a real job...lol! Seriously though, it is something that takes total dedication and can be quite a risky venture. I'm sure that for every Stephen King there are 500 who wind up disillusioned and take a 9-5 job or wind up working in convenience stores.

A lot of them write-full time, some take sabbaticals some take a long time to write and fit in in where they can in evenings and weekends - and some amazing amazing people manage to lecture, write articles, write papers, head think tanks and write a book all at the same time. I think they're robots.

You have to commit time to doing it....not always easy, but if you have a story to tell...it can be something of a compulsion too!

I'm pretty sure their publishers pay them to sit at home and write. That is if they are good...

How do you find time to AB all the time? For some, the answer is the same.

For others, they have put enough money away to carry them through for a while, so they can spend THAT time (full-time, at least) writing.

Authors could find time because they are determined to make time or redeem the time to indulge their passion.

Well that's their only work? Or their primary work? So they always have all the 28 hours in a day!
