I think it's a shame when parents do that to their children.
I'm an only child, therefor I had lots of time alone and privicy when I was young which obviously helped. Also, mum and dad never gave out any negative vibes about bodies, nakedness or sexuality.
Looking back I was very lucky and I'm very greatful to them. If they had done what your G/F's parents have, maybe I'd have hang-ups about masturbation too.
