Yes. A Peace Corp Volunteer a long, long time ago.
I give time to a bike co-op here in town and I help a friend from a nearby town collect cans for the library to cash in to buy DVDs and CDs. I used to teach English at the YMCA, but not any more.
No.. I am having some time off at the moment! I used to do hands-on volunteering, and then I went office based, and now I am trying to find something hands-on again.

Yes. My local Humane Society always needs help. Sometimes it's computer work, sometimes cleaning cages or taking the dogs for a walk and regrettably, carrying out the animals after they have been euthanized. Sorry for the mental image but it happens.
Not unless I have to.
I live in Tennessee, the Volunteer State.
Need i say more?
Yes, but since the kids it has been more and more tied to things they are doing like the PTA at their school, fundraising for their other activities etc.

I go to rest homes, right about lunch time and help them get to the dining room, cut up food on the plate, get extra napkins, juice, and other things. I also read the news paper to those that have trouble seeing, and take new g-rated movies for them to watch...even just sit and talk to them is important when you see that 60% of them do not have visitors at all. Many days I cry all the way home...but it's worth it.
