Can you prove that pushrod engines are better than overhead cam engines?

      I wouldn't say that either is inherently superior.  They are different designs, based on different priorities.  Overhead cam engines generally more efficient, and better at squeezing more performance out of a given displacement.  Pushrod engines, on the other hand, are generally more reliable, and can be expected to last longer before they need major repairs.

      This is, of course, a gross oversimplification.
