Help answer this question below.
Many are. Flags are made and accepted for good questions/answers, and flags are made and rejected for bad ones. Sometimes it seems the staff mods are asleep at the wheel.
You CAN protest the rejection, by replying to the email you received, and state your case, logically (not emotionally). You may never know if your flag is accepted except by your moderation points, but...
Flags are rejected by staff mods, most of whom are volunteers. They DO miss flags, either accepting bad ones, or rejecting good ones. And you would CERTAINLY not be the first to protest the rejection. Remember, too, that they are told to "err on the side of caution", if they are unsure. BTW: Your email does NOT go to them, but an admin, who has much more experience.

Should AB have a disclaimer/caution to hyper sensitive people regarding the questions and answers here?

I don't think there are "adult" profiles on AB. Of course there
is no way to view one, or reason, unless they ask to be friends.

You're reading What is the point of flagging content if it's not upheld? I've flagged twice in the last 4 days; one was incomprehensible gibberish, the other clearly intended to encourage religious hatred. Neither upheld. Is anyone else frustrated by this?

Thanks Big Daddy. I neglected to note the URLs of the flagged content because I thought both were so obvious. In future, I will note URLs of everything I flag. It's very frustrating to have a moderation percentage of zero after doing what I thought was my duty under the rules and both were obvious cases. +4

BigDaddyBS: good answer!
One question for you: my last question was rejected as nonsense:

Would you advice me to protest? Or do you think it was really nonsensical?
by iwnit on November 19th, 2009
Very strange. It's just a standard "silly" question, thousands like it out there.
by Stranger in a Strange Land on November 19th, 2009
@Warrior: The URLs should be in the rejection emails you received. If you haven't gotten any, then the flags are "in the queue", and can still be accepted/rejected. In the latter case, you just have to be patient. Think of all the flags the staff mods get daily!
.
@iwnit: I don't think it's any more nonsense than many of the other questions, here. If you feel it shouldn't have been flagged and accepted, reply to your email (if you still have it) or use feedback. One thing you can point out is that there WERE 26 answers, and not one of THEM said the question was nonsense. Sometimes that will hold weight.
.
You DO have to remember, though, that if and once it's reinstated, someone else could flag it again. (I've tried to get that "fixed" to where once a question has been flagged, accepted, protested, checked, and reinstated, that at least THAT option goes off the "flag" list.) Good luck. I'm SURE you will be thorough and logical in your reply. Good luck!

@ iwnit:
.
I liked the question and didn't see anything worth flagging as "Nonsense" under the Site Guidelines. So I submitted a feedback as well. We'll see what happens! Perhaps it'll be reinstated.
