I would applaud him for exercising his First Amendment rights.
i wouldnt care if he did or not
its his right. :)
Nothing
I'd take a paddle to him and smack the patriotism into him til his ass is red, white, and blue.
Nothing, but I'd ask his mother about it later, to see if he was exercising a right or just being contrary. Either way, it's not a big deal, and I wouldn't want to turn it into one.
I would respect his right to sit during the Pledge. I would not say anything to him to avoid embarrassing him. Then, I would stand and say the Pledge.

i wouldn't do anything as a Pledge of Alegence doesn't exist.
nothing because im not a jackass and he oesnt have to stand for it if he doesnt want to thats his right as an american citizen, and if anyone who forced me to stand could see me the next day in court for violating my rights
Ehh do nothing.
I'd tell him to sit, so at least he'd still be doing what I tell him.
I would respect his decision. Human beings have rights. You can't force them to like the United States or to promise their allegiance every morning.

Maybe they want to live in another country but their parents are making them stay in the usa.
I would not try to make him or discipline him for his refusal - it should be an individual's personal choice. Is that still done in schools in America?
it's his right. he could be a Jehovah's witness.
nothing. talk to him to see his perspective as it would be interesting to me.
I think the question is not that he doesn't by WHY he doesn't.
.
In the case of the ten year old who used it as a form of protest, I can only applaud and be surprised that a child that young has the courage of his convictions to stand up for his beliefs.
.
I would be more concerned that so many of my former students don't even know how to spell allegiance or at least how to spell allegiance ;-(
I'd make him wash my car as punishment.
