Ive said it before, but world hunger is a direct cause of over-population. This is how species decrease in number when overpopulated.
this world is indeed over-populated and it doesnt help with all the heavy eaters living among us who devour more than their fair share of food hourly. with the increase of people and decrease of animals worthy to eating, one day we will have NO food and will all die due to starvation. ironic on how the number one predator will soon be the prey...
When I make a promise I keep it, and I don't see any reason for the USA to be any different. The country is already one of the most miserly providers of foreign aid when viewed as a per person contribution.

You're reading In 2000, the US made an agreement with the UN (along with 21 other wealthy countries) to give .7% of national income (that's 70 cents per 100 dollars earned) to help solve world hunger (see link). Should we honor that commitment, and if so, how?

true, but the issue can be solved (do some reasearch, we do have all the things we need) But what are the hungry, dying people supposed to do, die? We can't leave them for dead.

That wouldn't solve the problem. The next step in population reduction is disease and war.

That seems pretty evil to solve a problem with killing and diseases.

I am not saying its what I would so, I am saying that is what happens with overpopulation naturally.
by Coach Miller on November 18th, 2009
true, but do you think we should honor the commitment or not?
by tastiger on November 18th, 2009
No. We need that money for our wavering economy, also I am a believe of non-interference.
I should have put that in my initial comment.

Ok, you can believe what you want, i just think that we should honor the commitment, and if you go to the link, some countries are planning to reach the goal years from now, which if we try, we would reach it way after the economy is out of the recession. Just saying. You do have a good point, though.
