Help answer this question below.
nope .
No, that's more of an extra if you ask me :). I would be fine with people just dying, but I can't say I mind the alternative :P
I believe in God, and there are several reasons why.
1. If there is a longing that can not be satisfied by this world, than I know something more exists.
2. I have felt God's presence during the worst times of my life and this has made these moments some of the most joyful times of my life. This shouldn't be possible unless God exists and was there comforting me.
3. I have recognized God respond to specific things I am thinking about and wondering what to do about at mass, in fact most of the time he answers questions im thinking about.
4. I am not a mouse. I am not a worm. I am not a fly. How many of those are there in the world compared to humans? Seems like there should be an incredibly low chance of me being a human.
5. There is an incredibly low chance for all the coincidences to happen for life to exist .
6. I have seen things happen and i have noticed that I was placed in situations that are perfect for me to be in to help another person, and I have noticed the same happen for me. For example, I had a bad childhood and got through it and became a stronger person, and my best friend has a friend who is a girl who went through a bad childhood who seems to have problems with it, and has really bad friends, so I think I am supposed to be there for her and encourage her.
7. I have had many ridiculous things happen. For example, one time I was running in track and I was thinking about God to make it easier to run, and I completely stopped becoming tired after focusing enough on God's love for me. The next time I went to mass, we sang a song that had the lyrics "We will run and not grow weary for the Lord will be our strength", which I have never heard before. I have had other things happen as well, but I won't mention them because you guys will probably call me crazy.
There are lots more reasons, some of which I can't explain.
I can't bring myself to believe that there is a big man sitting in the sky looking down on us. If there is... What a perve!!
For me he/it is a supreme being or higher power - even the light.
I Believe there are many Gods in various religions...I try not to use the term it's way to confining for this Being.
I believe because God gave me faithto believe. This is the missing ingredient for unbelievers...God-given faith.
Not "a" God but THE one and only God. I've read His Word, I know His Presence. I hear Him in the voices of my family and friends. He has given me many opportunities to express my love for Him to others because of His Love for me, as a pastor-teacher-university professor. I don't recall "eternal life" being part of the criteria when I came to faith in Him. I do recall the newness of life that He brought and that has been mine for "lo" these many years. Knowing that I am secure for eternity is very peaceful. Knowing that I will once again see those loved ones who are now with Him is nothing less than thrilling. There is no greater Love --- and He offers it to everyone in these forums.
"In a god no, in god, yes"
I do believe in God... The evidence for me is all around. For instance, look into theh human body, all of the inner workings and how they fit together perfectly, this did not just happen by chance, there is no way we could have evolved into intuitive beings like we are today without someone masetminding it. The world is beautiful place, I believe each thing in it was hand picked and placed here.
I believe in God .. the trinity ... God the father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit
I believe in His existence because He has always been with me all these times.
I believe in the one Almighty God Jehovah.
And that there are many other gods
Jesus, Satan, money, sex, celebrities, and self, among others.
We all have a god like it or not. ;)
I believe in God
No i do not thanks for asking :)
somewhat
No.
I certainly want eternal life.
But I could not say that that is why I believe in Him.
I have always loved Him and tried to get close to and understand Him and His ways. I love Him and wish to serve Him.
When I was very young, I found that it was nice to do the right thing. I tried to do it without any ulterior motive.
I believe in God because I have faith.
I believe that there might exist a being or beings which have powers greater than me. But I do not believe in any supernatural being as described by a religious dogma.
My belief in the possibility does not affect my view or understanding of the way the universe functions. I have seen no evivence that can support the interference of a "Supreme Being" upon the world.
Belief is more of a possibility of or a sense of a higher power or a God. I use to sense God, but moved up to that of realizing and to knowing God. This is not to say, that I cannot realize or know God better, because I know it is probable.
We are each non-physical, "immortal" aware of being aware, Spiritual Beings and are not the "mortal" physical, human body we operate and look at in a mirror. See, we each Natively are "eternal life".
No.But I believe in God because we are his children, he also created us, he helps us even in difficult cases.
No, I don't.
Yes.. Just the pretend ones.
Yup.
Not what you mean by a god.
No.
I don't believe in ANY God.
Eternal life, has to be the worst punishment I could ever imagine. No being with any bit of sense would ever want to live eternally. How long before you've contemplated everything possible? How long before you're bored with everything? Sure it may take trillions of years, but eventually you'll grow bored. Then what? Eternal torment worse than any torture hell could ever devise. Bronze Age philosophy leaves a LOT to be desired.

If God is merciful and forgives us of our sins, then what incentive is there for us to resist sin, so long as we repent afterwards?
