Most likely. The woman should either tell the wife or encourage her husband to tell her. This other guy should lay off. That is a really mean threat. If it was a one night stand and it was her ex, the wife might actually be more understanding. It sounds like she should cut off ties with this married man, though, out of respect for their marriage. It sounds like this guy wants a piece of this woman. She must be sexy. :-O

It's a threat used to gain an advantage, although because the advantage isn't monetary I suppose whether or not it would be a crime varies from country to country.
