  The Rh factor is the concern, not the blood type.

  Out of all the combinations of Rh factors possible between the two (both "+", both "-", him "+" & her "-", and him "-" and her "+", the one to be worried about is if the mother is "-" and the father "+".
  .
  If an Rh "-" mother conceives an Rh "+" baby, then her body will treat the baby as a foreign object/infection and produce antibodies against the baby. This will kill the baby and result in still birth.
  .
  Knowing this is important, because it seriously affects a couples ability to have children. Fortunately, there is medical treatment to prevent this complication for couples which fall in this catagory.

  My wife and I fall in this catagory ourselves, and it was a serious concern with us during her first pregnancy.

• No offense, but basically you just confirmed our beliefs that anyone thinking you can't have children because of blood types or even simply Rh factors is an idiot.
  Because there is medical treatment to prevent these types of complications. Unfortunate that it may take a miscarriage to know that, but still a fact.

  What he asked was "problem for conceive my wife" (ignoring the grammatical issues here). What vickysara wanted to know is are there any PROBLEMS to worry about for conceiving a child with his wife due to the two differing blood types.

  Your answer said that you didn't think blood type determines whether or not you can have children. The Rh factor of the blood type DOES, in fact, have an important part to play, under the conditions I explained.

  As it turns out, there isn't a problem in vickysara's case because his wife is Rh "+". But it is important that he and his wife understand this...people who don't MAY (and do) end up with miscarriages because of this.

  Had my wife an I not known this (and it's a routine check by the doctors when you go for your first check up to confirm a pregnancy), then we would likely have lost our first child.

  You and I think this is routine and that it will be taken care of...and that's true...IF they see a doctor. However, many people do not see a doctor for a large part of their pregnancy, and some never (even up to the delivery). These people are the ones most at risk. If this isn't caught and understood EARLY in the pregnancy, the child will die because of it.

  And I'm sorry for the lose of your first child.
  You're right, people do need to know these things.
  But people such as yourself and your wife whom were kept in the dark, have experienced something that has made you want to bring it to the light. Very admirable.

  And we didn't lose our first child! But we COULD have if this hadn't been a routine check. My wife immediately saw her doctor when she first found out she could be pregnant. It's a simple enough thing, if you find out about it immediately. This is where I first learned about it, in fact.
