Only if I wanted their mind to open to the whole world and different cultures. It is an awesome idea that will scupt them into more wholesome human beings.

I did and it was a wonderful experience for her! She had an opportunity to attend college in London for one semester through a foreign exchange student program.

I would worry, but if his/her mom or dad lived in another country and wanted to spend time with our child, I would, but I would really need to trust that the ex would continue to be fair with visitation and custody, and I would make sure that the country I send them to values American parent child custody relationships.

so the answer: My eldest child, who is 18, probably, but the younger who is 11, not so sure.

IF and ONLY IF they are old enough and proven themselves mature enough would I consider an exchange program in something they were truly interested in and excelled at. That is after I did all the research, inquiries and legwork to ensure the place was safe enough.
