Yes - in fact one of my daughters may go to France to finish her education....and that's cool with me.
I did and it was a wonderful experience for her! She had an opportunity to attend college in London for one semester through a foreign exchange student program.

No i would not ....my kids will never be farmed out to others ,,,, it's my duty to teach my kids right from wrong .....Well when i get some i mean ,,,,
Maybe if it was Hogwarts, but if it was just another school, then no.
I would worry, but if his/her mom or dad lived in another country and wanted to spend time with our child, I would, but I would really need to trust that the ex would continue to be fair with visitation and custody, and I would make sure that the country I send them to values American parent child custody relationships.
so the answer: My eldest child, who is 18, probably, but the younger who is 11, not so sure.
IF and ONLY IF they are old enough and proven themselves mature enough would I consider an exchange program in something they were truly interested in and excelled at. That is after I did all the research, inquiries and legwork to ensure the place was safe enough.
sure! If it was a prestigious school or something. Or maybe if I hated them, jk!
