Pneumonic plague has been around for centuries, and has nothing to do with H1N1. Read up on some history.

Pneumonic plague is a strain of the more well known Bubonic plaugue. Together, Bubonic plague, Pneumonic plague, and Septicemic plague are believed to be what made up the infamous Black Death in the 1300's.
I have no idea how accurate that is, but I think I'm close.
