Nope. I make a witty answer when I think I can make a witty answer.
There are times I will make the "witty" answer, and then follow up with the real one.
Why not?

Occasionally. More often I strive for a witty answer that ALSO answers the question.
You can't beat free information sprinkled with just a dash of comicality.
Have you ever asked a question you think is innocent and had innuendo answers? (nudge nudge wink wink)
