Help answer this question below.

My guy friend(whom I like) asked our mutual friend to the prom as friends. I know he likes me(his friends have told me & him to) and so I'm very confused about the situation. Why didn't he ask me?

    I've been in this situation before... although i was the "friend" who asked the guy out as friends... she asked him to her prom too (we go to different schools) they were going out by prom,which was awkward when we went together.... it all happened in the same night... it was horrible. They are no longer dating and he and I, and me and her, and him and her are all good friends still. He probably just said yes to the other girl because he was her friend.

    *Sometimes* a guy may hang out with your friend as a way to get closer to you, but if you're already friends with the guy, that wouldn't make sense. He could just be shy, or he could like both of you. Maybe he asked her if you already had a date. Maybe as friends he doesn't want to put too much pressure on you. It really could be anything, the only way to know for sure is to ask him. Wait until after the prom & see if anything changes within your circle of friends.

    I know someone who couldn't ask who he really wanted to ask because it would cause trouble and hurt some of his friends' feelings (at least so he told me in desperate tones of voice).
