When you say one thing and you were meaning to say something else. When I was in college we had role call every morning and one of the teachers called out this guys name, but instead of saying his name he called out the name of the actress Faye Dunaway, we all heard him and laughed. He did it another day, and I thought that was a Freudian Slip as he must subconsciously think Faye Dunaway is hot.

Freud said that certain slips of the tongue could reveal that the person speaking had a 'Hidden Agenda’ like someone might mean to say when referring to woman teachers felt tip pens. “I like your felt tips." BUT! It might come out as “I like your felt tits." A Freudian Slip! So what was the person's mind really on?

A freudian slip is when you say something accidently. The thing you say has some meaning of course. Take for example FRIENDS. When Ross went to marry Emily he said Rachel's name at the alter. This could be deemed a freudian slip because he said one thing but meant another. The thing he did say had meaning because it could be implied that he actually wanted Rachel to be at the alter and not Emily.

That is when the subconscious offers a different word from your lips instead of the intended word and it gives a more revealing answer.

Saying something you were thinking that you shouldn't have said out loud. You meet a friend of a friend..you know she is a prostitute....a call girl...a "lady of the evening"...You say "I'm so glad to know you!..uh, er, well, I don't mean "know" you because I don't "know you" in the biblical sense!" That wouldn't go too well! :)
