Help answer this question below.
Yes, you can get in trouble. Not only was it not your card, it was not even your friend's card. Even if the card was his aunt's, he would not have the authority to let you use it. I am sure you were aware something was up - why would your friend's aunt offer to cover your purchases? I would guess you ignored common sense in favour of some free goods. Poor judgement does have consequences. You will probably be looking at identity fraud on top of theft.
How many times are you going to ask this question but word it slightly different? YOUR FRIEND CAN'T TELL YOU IT'S OKAY TO USE HIS/HER AUNT'S CREDIT CARD. What is it that you don't get about this? You don't use someone else's credit card. Period. Otherwise it's theft.
Bawks - you know it was stolen.
Yes. YOU are responsible for yourself, for your own actions. You should have sought the card owners permission yourself. . The courts may let you off with a warning depending on your age and/or if you have any prior convictions.
Yes. You didn't have the owner's permission. It's pretty stupid to ever use someone else's credit card because in the end it's he said she said.
Serious reply - only those listed by the credit card company as owners are to use the card. Yes you can and should get in trouble. +5
I hope so but I don't know for sure. I'm sure that when you accepted the card that you knew it was wrong.
The only person who had the athourity to give permission was the Aunt. She owns the card. The only way to make it right is to return items if you can, pay back the Aunt and tell the police the truth. If indeed it was someone else that stole the card.
.
Why on earth would you use someone elses card that you didn't know?? Hope you learned your lesson. NEVER use someone elses card, regardless of what someone tells you.
I haven't but as far as any credit car is concerned the only person who can use it legally is the card holder.

Sorry - not trying to come down on you. Credit card theft is a crime that pisses me off because it is often a person who is struggling to get by as it is who is effected. This happened to a friend of mine who is a single mom and lives paycheque to paycheque despite having two jobs. She was not held responsible for everything charged on her stolen card, but was liable for some. It made me angry that her and her kids had to suffer because of someone who did not consider or did not care about the people effected by his shopping spree. I know we all do stupid things in our lives and do not believe someone should be defined by a very bad decision. This only applies though if that person acknowledges and shows an understanding of the mistake, considers others effected by the bad decision, and shows a desire to change. Remorse because of being caught means nothing. I am sorry your gf lied and perhaps her confessing to lying may help you. Hopefully its a lesson learned
