I need to send a completely anonymous e-mail. It is very important that the receiver not know who sent it or where the email came from. Is there a way I can either hide my IP address or have the e-mail show the wrong one?

Yes, you can download programs to change both the IP address and the name in the sent from section of the email, but seriously Midnighttoker has the easiest way.

Those aren't helpful answers, you guys. WHat you want to do, Buster, is spoof your e-mail. Just go to youtube and type "How to spoof e-mail." They can explain it better then me.
