    It depends on the person. For me music does help me stay concentrated. For some people they can't listen to music because they need pure silence or they listen to what else is going on around them and other reason is that they can only listen to the song instead of doing anything else.

    No - I am a musician, and music immediately grabs my attention. It is very difficult for me to do anything else while music is playing.

    It's nice to have music when doing a physical-type project like painting. But if I'm working on a case I prefer silence.

    I can't read and listen to music at the same time. I pay too much attention to the music and can't retain the words. I do listen to music while I do this though.

    As a musician, I start focusing too much and trying to pick out all the details. My concentration doesn't get pretty after that.
