its a goog idea to make you more respsible but you should not go alone but you dont have to go with parents or even family. you can go with a friend but you should always have a buddy incase something bad happends. not just injuries but you could get kidnapped or even worse!

We learn to be responsible from others, AND from making responsible decisions ourselves, but typically this is a gradual process.

The decisions you would need to make on your travels would be great practice, but what are the potential risks if you aren't ready to make them?

We are all different. We can't possibly know you well enough to judge if YOU are ready, but the average 16 yr. old, I think, would not be ready.

Maybe the ones you need to talk to are your parents?
.
If you spend some time marshaling your arguments, who knows... B.T.W. good arguments are the ones your parents will like and agree with, not necessarily the ones you like.

Maybe you have an older sibling, other relative or friend you can talk into going with you to help your parents feel more secure?

Most people at age 15 are not mature enough to wander around the country alone.
Have you considered if / how this will affect your school completion? or how to pay for the trip?

You're reading I'm nearly 16 in two months, am I too young to travel and wander about Canada / Place in United States? I want to see the world. Opinions would be nice, do you think I have what it takes to travel by myself? I feel it will make me more responsible :)
