    For the most part that's a matter of taste. There is a somewhat object test which is the test of time. The really good stuff is still considered good and still listened to many years down the road.

    It's different for different stages of life. I used to really get down with Burl Ives' version of 3 Blind Mice. Rocked a while with Gene Autry and Roy Rogers, too. Then I got classical with the Beatles and Stones. Then I got serious with John Coltrane and Miles Davis. Then I was electrified by Beethoven and Vivaldi. Then I found this old record I really dig, 3 Blind Mice by Burl Ives.
