  • I've seen it in March but in a different year. It was mostly frozen during a very cold March but I understand that it wasn't a normal thing for it to happen that late in the year.

  • G'day Lucky Lefty, Thank you for your question. No, the Falls generally doesn't completely freeze except in exceptionally cold weather. The last time it completely froze in 1848. However, ice does form during winter time but the water keeps flowing. They were formed after the last Ice Age. Indeed, there are concerns that erosion of the falls may lead to most of Lake Erie being drained. I have attached sources for your reference.
