You're reading I can't access my WinXP(Home) computer's DVD drives via my network. I can share them, and icons for them appear in my Network Places, but when I click on the Icons, I can't access the drive contents. How do I fix this?

Firewall isn't the problem. I've gone as far as disabling it completely and it doesn't change anything. Could you please elaborate on what I can do to the permissions that I mightn't already be doing?

right click on the folders and look at the security (permissions) you'll need the permission for the everyone group = full access and full access on the shared folder too

This is XP *HOME* version. There is no such right click option, at least under a normal boot. I recall monkeying around with settings like you describe a while back, but I had to boot in safe mode for them to be available. Anyways, nothing I did to those settings made any difference, either.
