How do manage ADD or hyperactivity in a toddler with out medication? How do you know if it is ADD or if its hyper activity or if thats just the way the kid is?

    the hyperactivity in my 3 year old sister is caused by the hyperactivity in my 10 year old brother.

    i had to take medication as a child... you pretty much gotta wait (as a parent) to see if it starts to reflect in school work.

    I would assume you just have an active toddler -- nothing amazing or surprising about that. ADD and hyperactivity are way over-diagnosed.

    You go to a speicialist and if they prescribe medication and it is good advice and helps the child you give it to the child. I would try a second and third opinion as well. It is your child.
