It's somewhat difficult partially because of several recent expenses but also some negative conducts.

I've been reading some helpful books on the matter lately.
Practically anyone can save at least a little money each month, it's a matter of analysis and self-discipline.

The $1100/month child support and normal living expenses make it difficult. But somehow I manage to slowly save up money.

Its not so hard. I try to save something out of every paycheck. Its not always a lot, but with consistency and time it adds up.

I could save if my husband didn't believe that there is no point in trying to take it with you.
His motto is spend it while its hot. :(

It's easier for me recently (in the last 15 years) due to me being able to save and influence from my wife who is very good with money. Prior to that, it was hard for me to let go. I was a spender.

Depends, normally if you take Consumer math you can get some brief detail on economic guidelines and the math involved. Primarily if you are responsible with your money you can save money. Frivolous spending is one common ground shared in capitalism, buying accessories and other items that are just wants and not needs. Make a budget sheet of income and outcome. Make sure you are earning a substantial amount of income than what your expenditures. If not, reduce spending on unnecessary items. The central needs today include affordable housing, transportation, groceries, clothing, ect. Unnecessary expenditures include examples such as entertainment, pricey clothes and accessories, and many more. It is unnecessary to eradicate all wants from your budget but best to limit them. Both expenditures in needs and wants should be made more cost-effective, kind of like buying generic brands of cereals. As a result you will have more money being made than spent that can be saved. Some people are attached to the idea of banks giving interest but unfortunately that interest isn't very substantial. In the end, saving money can be easy if you are responsible with it but there comes the consequence of letting go of your wants.

Here's an equation you may find helpful... S = I - (E), where S is the money saved, I is your income, and E is (wants+needs)

Very hard. I can never see the reason not to spend what I have. My dad saved his whole life and died before he enjoyed a penny of it.

It used to be hard. Now it is easier. In the past few years, all managers (me included) have been required to take approximately 30 days without pay to help reduce the organization's budget deficit. On a 5 day work week, that is 6 weeks of no pay. It has forced me to budget much more closely and, even though I have less income, I am able to carefully save more. I've been cutting back on non-essentials, bringing a sandwich and apple to work everyday and generally tracking my spending more closely. Great question. Nice to see you again! :-)
