but, of the shows I've seen, my favorite spin-off is
"Maude"
from "All in the Family" ( which is the funniest TV comedy in my opinion of those I've seen, along with "I Love Lucy" )

Yes! I am a devout fan. I own all the Frasiers on dvd and it is a guilty pleasure to watch them over... and over... and over. "Star Mitzvah" must be the funniest tv comedy episode of all time - where Frasier reads his son's Mitzvah speech in Klingon. It surpassed Cheers.

It's up there, for sure. Let's not forget that Happy Days was technically a spin-off, and many good ones spun off that. Just may vote for Trapper John, M.D. to be the best of the spin-offs -- much better than After M*A*S*H anyway.

Probably, yes, though there is a show in my country called Still Game, which was a spin-off from a show called Chewing The Fat which I personally think is up there too, particularly as I thought that the original show was pretty crap.

It is an excellent spin-off as they go. Star Trek TNG is also very good, but the genres are so different they're pretty impossible to compare.

You're probably meaning more comedy shows but I think that Star Trek - TNG was a great spinoff (if you can call it that) of the original. It could also be called a continuation, maybe? I do like Frasier, too.

i haven't heard of them. maybe because i live in england but the greatness about frasier is it is big in england and usa and it's the funniest tv show in the world
